This finish seals, protects, and brings out a deep color in the wood.
Includes one half ounce bottle of oil finish, two application rags, and instructions. This is just enough oil for finishing one marquetry kit.
You may use any finish you like, but for beginners, I recommend a matte or satin (not gloss) wipe-on oil finish that needs no sanding between coats. Many spray finishes require sanding between coats (read the back of the can). Because of marquetry's many grain directions within the piece, hand sanding against the grain is inevitable, and will mar the wood. If you do sand, use a random orbital sander with 220-grit paper.
